YMCA offers an alternative schools program as part of their broader social service offerings. The growth there Vocational Schools services were experiencing at the time was unprecedented.

THE PROBLEM
They were growing at an incredibly fast rate and needed to a place to document their approach, policies and procedures. A portal that would enable the sharing of information. As part of a much wider organisation, they had limited IT resource and little time.

THE SOLUTION
We worked with them to create the 'Our Way Portal'. A fully integrated platform that allowed staff to access key documents AND internal learning all in one place. Like a SharePoint site and Learning Management System all in one.  

THE RESULT
In terms of learning, what resulted was a comprehensive course on their culture and approach and over 12 mini courses about various topics staff could engage in, where they view a simple presentation and then are quizzed on their knowledge. All of this was built inside a platform that included an LMS, meaning YMCA could track which staff had viewed and completed each mini course. As well as the courses, we created a full library of internal resources like policies and procedures and curriculum documents. The all in one solution we provided them was user friendly, mobile compatible and easy to search and maintain.

OUR FAVOURITE PART
The best part of this project was collaborating with YMCA to allow them to create beautiful learning assets. This empowered ownership and a sense of pride for the great work they do. That, and no one is more equipped to pass on knowledge than those that immerse in their profession each and every day like the folk at the Y do. Below are some screenshots of the design and UX.
